Pre-Nicea means the unanimous view of Christian writers for about the first 300 years of Christianity’s existence. Pre Constantine and so pre Colonialism and pre Translatlantic slave trade and pre crusades etc etc etc. Rather, during a time when Christianity was expanding without the aid of the state and actually being persecuted on and off by the state itself. This was before Galerius had his change of heart and Constantine and Licinius changed the status of Christianity in the Roman empire.
