“Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.” – Philippians 1:27-30
Let us be like the Philipian Christians and not like those over in Corinth! Lol Lol lol…
Let’s pray for those guys and gals but let us encourage ourselves and others to be like the Philippians. If it weren’t for the Philippians and Philippian like believers thruout the ages where would the gospel be today? And thank God those in Corinth repented and so giving those of us hope who get all Conrinthian at times for change and maybe another reason why the Faith of the Gospel continues to thrive 2000 years later despite all the divisions and tares amongst the wheat etc etc etc
“Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.” – Philippians 1:15-18
Maybe just somehow thru all this sinful mess of God’s people the truth is carried on so that God and God alone gets the glory!
“For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
I love being a part of God’s raggamuffin band of misfits for God! To God be the Glory…
