The Islamic, Mormon, JW and all the other scholarly Jesus come lately’s plus lost gospel Jesus’s DID.NOT.CHANGE this world. RATHER, the Jesus of the four gospels with Paul and the other epistles including the book of Revelations as prophecied under the Old Covenant going back to Genesis 3:15 is the Jesus that brought to the world that man is created in the image of His maker and has badly and eternally fallen into sin and rebellion against his Maker and HE has come to save man from his unbelief and the only thing that can eternally separate man from a holy and just God.
Jesus brought man back to faith and a right relationship with his Maker via the cross combined with his ambassadors to the world and has been doing so with longevity and for some time now and has become the most trusted and most widely trusted of all time for salvation as He Himself predicted/prophecied (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:7-9, Mark 13:35 etc etc etc) and as was prophecied of Himself in the Great Isaiah Scroll (Isaiah 42:1-9, 49:1-6 Isaiah 52:13-15 and Isaiah 53) from the Dead Sea Scrolls which has been dated to the BC before the birth of Christ but was written originally many many years even before that according to the Scriptures that are the most trusted and widely trusted source of salvation to date with longevity and endurability and fidelity (that can even be be tested) of all time like unto no others to date all because of His ambassadors who would not be if it weren’t for the Jesus that they represent and are enlightened and empowered by!
P.S. – but what about all the bad people that did horrific things in the name of Jesus. Don’t worry about it Jesus predicted this too and will take really good care of it:
“The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. WHO HATH EARS TO HEAR, LET HIM HEAR.” – Matthew 14:41-43.
“BEHOLD.MY.SERVANT, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law….Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: BEFORE.THEY.SPRING.FORTH I tell you of them.” – Isaiah 42:1-4
“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.” – Isaiah 49:1-6
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” – Isaiah 53:10-12
Nobody but the Jesus of the Scriptures fits the bill. But beware of the leaven of the modern day naturalistically darwinian influence traditions of modern day man/scholarship who reject the Jesus that fits the bill as much as any Pharisaic scholarship of old. The angel of light and his minions are still roaring around seeking whom he may devour. Don’t be deceived….
“And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” – Mark 13:5-6
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” – 2 Corinthians 11:3-4
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1:6-8
Just as in the early days of Christianity there were detectors and so today you have deconstructers too and so dont trust nor be decieved by the deconstructor’s Jesus come lately over the tried true and tested Jesus of historical Christianity that fits the Biblical bill:
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” – 1 John 2:19
And may this message to the faithful reader end with two admonition from God’s Word and a third:
“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that YE SHOULD EARNESTLY contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Jude 1:3-5
This is how Christianity thrived. It was by dedicated believers undestracted by the vain entertainments of the world whose love for Jesus over rode their will to please self but rather care for others just like themselves that were in sin and now saved by grace and a love they would not know if it weren’t for the great love that their Savior first showed unto them.
“We love him, because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” – from the tried true and tested Jesus from John 15:13
“For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – From the tried true and tested Scriptures of historic Christianity Romans 5:7-8
Which all was written before this prediction from the same Scripture which is consistent with the others above:
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21 1st century AD
How did Paul have such confidence that this message would transcend his time were it not for the confident predictions/prophecies of Jesus and prior the Jesus birth prophecies of Jesus!
“And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” – Acts 5:38-42
This is why Christianity remains to this day. It is because it is of God (first and foremost) and God’s people love their God (because He first loved them even in their sin) and so they first love others just like unto themsleves thruout the ages though not perfectly. It’s the Mother Theresa’s of the world and the Billy Graham’s of the world, etc etc etc that change the world not those distracted with vanity fair!
And let’s try to end this one more time with a doctrine of Christ (whose doctrines the men and women of his day were astonished at “for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.” – Mark 1:22
“[2] And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them IN HIS DOCTRINE, [3] HEARKEN; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: [4] and it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. [5] And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: [6] but when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. [7] And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. [8] And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. [9] And he said unto them, HE THAT HATH EARS TO HEAR, LET HIM HEAR. [10] And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. [11] And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: [12] that seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. [13] And he said unto them, KNOW YE NOT THIS PARABLE? AND HOW THEN WILL YE KNOW ALL PARABLES? [14] The sower soweth the word. [15] And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. [16] And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; [17] and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. [18] And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, [19] and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. [20] And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. [21] And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? [22] For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. [23] If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. [24] And he said unto them, TAKE HEED WHAT YE HEAR: WITH WHAT MEASURE YE METE, IT SHALL BE MEASURED TO YOU: and unto you that hear shall more be given. [25] For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.” – Mark 4:2-25
Jesus also predicted in another passage besides those above that his Kingdom would start small and then become the biggest of all that was being planted in the earth in His day at least which fits quite well with a prophecy in Daniel but this is getting long enough:
“And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: but when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.” – Matthew 4:30
So, when answering the question as to why Christianity and it’s huge success (and by Christ even of its hypocrisy which will be dealt with as noted above) many answers could be given other than that it is of God and the resurrection etc etc etc but here it is ultimately according to Jesus because of the fruitful “some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred”. It just multiplied by those who were not distracted by the things of the world or who were at least in a struggle with it and having some successes here and there. And they would have never cared enough for others if it were not for God’s infinite love and care for them so I guess it does go back to “it be of God”, “Christ crucified” and “resurrection” because it was this God that changed their own lives and inspired them to love others with the same love they themsleves received and were loved by.
And so now let’s finally end this post with another admonition to the fruitful that Jesus desires for us to be by His love, forgiveness and AMAZING GRACE:
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” – 1 John 2:15-17
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” – James 4:3-10
Let us be just but a mere part of the answer to the prayer of Jesus in John 17 which in particular reads but must be read in its entirety and in the entirety of it’s whole gospel message and then in the entirety of all of the New Testament time enduring writings and then in the entirety of all the Scriptures preserved in the book that changed the world over:
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” – Jesus John 17:20-23
“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: BLESSED ARE THEY THAT HAVE NOT SEEN, and yet have believed. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: but these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” – John 20:29-31
Christianity has a mixed history as predicted by Jesus and yet His Kingdom would expand with wheat and tares included. Only Christ and the Christ of Christianity fits the bill! God bless..
If Christianity and every Christian were perfect it would falsify the claims of Jesus as no one is good but one and there is going to be wheat and tares! But I’ll tell you this, we sure as heaven by God’s grace made quite the impact on this world as longly predicted before it came to pass and Jesus prayer is being answered daily as one sinner after another trusts in Him and then shares that same love with others in either word or action or both and sometimes one over the other in various places, times and seasons which in some fashion is probably exactly how he/she came to Jesus him or herself in the first place tracing all the way back to Christ. Laters…
“For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And THE DISCIPLES WERE CALLED CHRISTIANS FIRST IN ANTIOCH. And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cæsar. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judæa: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.” – Acts 11:24-30
“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man SUFFER AS A CHRISTIAN, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.” – 1 Peter 4:15-16
