Some good points to think thru!
But WHO IS YOUR SCHOLAR of the Scriptures that you rely on most. 1st century JESUS OR 21st Century naturalistically Darwinian biased moderns. JESUS never once taught that the Scriptures were stolen from Gilgamesh. Not only does this violate the “correlation doesn’t equal causation” fallacy, but it violates JESUS’ view of the Scriptures, which He views are clearly from God and not stolen from Gilgamesh.
That would be a theory foreign to the Scriptures and Jesus!
Jesus should be our ultimate authority on God’s Word, and we ought to trust Him above any modern-day believing or non-believing scholar. Most are just trusting the scholarly opinions one way or another, it seems, and Jesus is being lost in the mix. However, if we judge all scholars by the Jesus standard then we would be better respecting Jesus and His understanding of God’s Word to know what one is defending/refuting in the first place and insure a steel Bible as opposed to a straw Bible is being understood and/or interpreted.
“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 2:13-16
I think this is the best biased to be biased by as all are indeed biased.
