The heart of the issue is always the heart

‭-Jihn MacArthur “Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life.” – Proverbs 4:23 ‭”For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” – Jesus Mark 7:21-23 Don’t focus on reforming systems at the expense of the gospel. The gospel gets to the issue of the problem which is always the heart of man! Continue reading The heart of the issue is always the heart

‭”And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I WILL DOUBTLESS deliver the Philistines into thine hand.” – 2 Samuel 5:19 And when He doubtless says no, then it’s doubtlessly no…even to Moses: Moses said, ‭‭”I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let … Continue reading I’d rather…

When doing some research on slavery in the Bible, I found these remarks enlightening.

“New Testament teaching does not focus on reforming and re structuring human systems, which are never the root cause of human problems. The issue is always the heart of man—which when wicked will corrupt the best of systems and when … Continue reading When doing some research on slavery in the Bible, I found these remarks enlightening.

Humble yourselves…and He shall lift you up

‭‭[3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. [4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. [5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? [6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. [7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will … Continue reading Humble yourselves…and He shall lift you up

According to thy lovingkindness…

Reading this amazing passage of King David’s confession tonight. A thought struck me and caused me awe. This was written from the heart of David when his sin was found out. We, to this day read this passage with similar sorrow over our sins and set our hopes on God’s amazing mercy to blot out our transgressions. King David was as real a human being as I am and I just pictured a human from ancient days and me in this modern day relating to the same God relying upon the same mercy to blot out our sins. We are … Continue reading According to thy lovingkindness…

The Lord does not see as man sees
