Don’t be the cause of a little one’s fall

“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.” – Matthew 19:13-15 “But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not RECEIVE … Continue reading Don’t be the cause of a little one’s fall

I will strengthen thee

“But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be … Continue reading I will strengthen thee

Jesus of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.” – John 12:32,33 “And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: … Continue reading Jesus of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

Your strength will fade

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:” – Isaiah 26:3,4 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” – Hebrews 2:14-15 “Oh that my words were now written! Underlying cause of 15-44 aged deaths in Cali

Does California media reflect the data? I don’t honestly know as I don’t live there. It appears about 70% of deaths are drug and alcohol related in Cali and mostly drug which is probably fentanyl. Californians who are more concerned about firearm and covid deaths seem to be well off the mark. They ought to be leading the campaign against overdoses and the most knowledgeable and concerned about it. I don’t seem to get this from Cali but maybe I’m wrong. Now I know this verse is not in the context of this but is applicable none the less. “Ye … Continue reading Underlying cause of 15-44 aged deaths in Cali

Preaching of the cross

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die.” – John 12:32:32 “that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.” – John 18:32 “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of … Continue reading Preaching of the cross

The ways of death…

“My son, attend unto my wisdom, And bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, And that thy lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, And her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, Sharp as a twoedged sword. [LHer feet go down to death; Her steps take hold on hell. Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, Her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. Hear me now therefore, O ye children, And depart not from the words of my … Continue reading The ways of death…

Thou shalt see…

From Spurgeon sermon in 1861 AD    “I have but now one other point, and I shall not detain you, probably two moments while I dwell upon it, but the subject would not be complete without it. It has been said of some preachers of the word, and especially of me, that we delight to preach damnation and the fires of hell. I think that all who have heard me constantly, know that a more unfounded libel was never uttered against any living man: I have preached terrible sermons; they have been few and far between; but I have never … Continue reading Thou shalt see…

To have the faith…

“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when … Continue reading To have the faith…
