The opening lines of the letter to the Philippians:

A letter from BOTH Paul AND TIMOTHY.

“Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: GRACE to you AND PEACE from God our Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:1-2

Amen!

This letter is to “all the saints” and those in servant leadership of “the saints” being slaves of Jesus as Paul and Timothy are. Wishing Grace and Peace unto them all from no lesser of a source than God Himself our heavenly Father and “the Lord” Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Savior AND our Lord.

We love Him because He first loved us. We serve Him as our Lord because He first became a slave to serve us.

“Brethren, JOIN IN FOLLOWING MY EXAMPLE, AND NOTE THOSE WHO SO WALK, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—WHO SET THEIR MIND ON EARTHLY THINGS. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the SAVIOR, THE LORD Jesus Christ..” Philippians 3:17-20

“But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” – Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Matthew 16:23

Put Satan behind Jesus in your life! God first! Easier said than done judt look at Peter! Jesus is Lord!

“And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” – Jesus John 8:23-24

Jesus over self! It is more blessed to give than to recieve. It is more blessed to believe than to doubt! Trust Jesus over whatever it is that you are trusting over Him for we are all tempted as Peter to mind the earthly things and not our Creator!
