Awesome! The sermon starts at about 45 minutes…
There is so much to ponder with Mary, but also that this Gospel of Luke opens up with these two amazing women of God at Christ’s birth, and then we know the first to see the resurrected Christ are holy women of God!
Sometimes it’s the women who get it before the men, and I as a man am OK with that (so long as God gets the glory) . Sin enters the world thru a woman (the man being present and thus thru the man), but the heralding of salvation that began in the garden with the “seed of the woman” begins in the Gospels with Elizabeth and Mary, and then Zachariah and Joseph get it, and then the stopping of the seed of the serpent is first revealed in a garden with a woman and the women before the men get it later on and still have a hard time believing they didn’t see a ghost or something if I remember rightly.
And what a woman of God in Mary! Knowing so much and being consistent with so much Scripture even before we have our amazing Bibles today! The church fathers amaze me in this regard too. God bless…
