A holy festival

And his whole life is a holy festival. His sacrifices are prayers, and praises, and readings in the Scriptures before meals, and psalms and hymns during meals and before bed, and prayers also again during night. By these he unites himself to the divine choir, from continual recollection, engaged in contemplation which has everlasting remembrance.

Clement of Alexandria. 1885. “The Stromata, or Miscellanies.” In Fathers of the Second Century: Hermas, Tatian, Athenagoras, Theophilus, and Clement of Alexandria (Entire), edited by Alexander Roberts, James Donaldson, and A. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” – Psalm 1:1-3

1️⃣ Big win for the one who doesn’t vibe with toxic advice, doesn’t roll with messy crowds, and doesn’t sit in the troll seat.

2️⃣ Instead, they’re hyped about God’s word — they binge it like their favorite series, day and night.

3️⃣ They’re like a tree locked in by the river, roots deep, always dropping fruit right on time. Their leaves never flop, and whatever they put their hands to? It hits different — it prospers.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” – Colossians 3:16–17

16️⃣ Let Christ’s vibe live deep inside you, flooding your mind with wisdom. Share it with each other through psalms, hype tracks, and spirit-filled songs — sing it out with real gratitude in your heart to God.

17️⃣ And whatever you say or do, make it all rep Jesus. Do it with thanks, giving props to God the Father through Him.
