Be good for the greatest good which all good comes from! Without which there would be no good! There is no purer motive!

“Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” – James 1:16-17

Don’t be good for goodness sake that would be making an idol out of goodness! Worship God alone…
