The Greatest Commandment

What is the greatest sin according to Jesus?

I guess that depends on what is the greatest commandment. Here is what Jesus said is THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT:

“ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.” – Matthew 22:37,38

So, if we don’t have a passionate love for God then something is greatly off with us. To break the greatest commandment is to commit the greatest sin.

So, how does one get this kind of love for God?

“We love him, because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

How did God first love us?

“For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:7,8

And Jesus said concerning His death on a cross that:

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” (Now he said this to indicate clearly what kind of death he was going to die.)” – John 12:32,33

And for the last 2000 years Jesus has been drawing all sorts of people unto himself by the cross and millions of people have been thankfully developing a love for God in their hearts by faith.

Jesus also said this in the Gospel of John 3:14-17:
“Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.”

And check this out about why Jesus is called Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew:

“She will give birth to a son and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21

So, if you have no love for God and agree with Jesus that this is no small sin then trust and believe what Jesus did for you even while you have this sin in your heart and let the world changing and never changing Gospel of Jesus Christ draw and melt your heart toward Him.

God bless and be blessed in Jesus name amen!

P.S. – Did you know that what Jesus would do for sinners was predicted in The Great Isaiah Scroll which was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls and has been dated before Jesus was even born?

Did you know that Jesus and The Great Isaiah Scroll both predicted that the spread of Christianity would become worldwide before it became worldwide?

Did you know that Jesus predicted there would always be good and bad “Christians” within Christianity?

And there is so much more to know about Jesus. God bless and be blessed in Jesus name.

“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” – Ephesians 3:19-21
