Whoa! Very cool lessons here. Research, research, research…and “It is (always) better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.” – Psalm 118:8

Update: “Experts have long understood that snakes can feel sound vibrations through the ground – what we call “tactile” sensing – but we’ve puzzled over whether they can also hear airborne sound vibrations, and particularly over how they react to sounds.
In a new paper published in PLOS ONE, we conclude snakes use hearing to help them interpret the world, and FINALLY DISPEL THE MYTH THAT SNAKES ARE DEAF to airborne sound.”

“Evidence suggests that snakes can hear, but how snakes naturally respond to sound is still unclear.”
“To our knowledge, our study is the first to test the free-moving responses of snakes to sound and thus provides a framework for similar future work. Our data reveals that Australian snakes respond to airborne and groundborne sounds”
P.S. – I would like to add that in this same passage (Psalm 58:4 and 5) says of the snakes that they “…will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.” And as you watch the snakes and the snake charmers, they are not charmed by the noises but rather the movements of the snake charmer. They don’t rise out of their baskets because of the music or falling asleep back into the baskets by the music. They are always being shaken out of the basket and placed by hand back into the baskets. Notice the snake charmers have to take out the venom of the snakes before snake charming. They dare not trust their musical instruments! So, the hoax/deceitful beliefs of the snake charmers are exposed by this verse before science exposed it and before science found the inner ear of the snake! God bless…
